Special Weekend Over at Sassy Scrappers!

This weekend Sassy's Scrappers is devoting their weekend crop and chat to a very special member who sadly and suddenly passed very recently. Janice Nielson was a wonderful lady whose work reflected the love of her family. There are plenty of challenges to work on this weekend based on the many wonderful layouts from Janice. Pop on in and work on some challenges and get a chance to win a wonderful card kit from Steph!

Here's a couple challenges I've completed so far!

Amy has also created a very special charm in honor of Janice too!!

Some favorite layouts

I think I've been desperately trying to achieve this year is organization! I've been going through all my pictures on my computer and organizing them. Then I decided it was time to update my slideshows on my blogs. I really accomplished a lot in the way of layouts in 2008, so I decided to showcase all of them! When I look at them, it's so hard to pick just 1 favorite, each one tells a different story. But if I had to choose a couple, these would be it:

Looking back at my layouts, it's clear to see what technique I love....distressing! On this second layout, I used paint, which I don't do very often, and I really loved the look I got with it!

Card Fever

Seems like lately I've been making a lot of cards! Here's one I made for the newly created Inspirational Card Sketches DT Call!

Happy New Year!

I admit, my blog has been neglected for way too long. My excuse, the holidays! But with the new year comes new resolutions and I'm ready to get my groove going and start blogging!!

When I go through the hundreds of layouts I completed last year one thing stands out for me, I love to tear and distress and ink!! I love that aged vintage look! This layout is one of my favorites using the technique.

My goal for the new year is to expand my comfort zone and start to do more layering and clustering on my layouts. I love to do 1 picture layouts and I love white spaces pages, but I tend to keep them simple. I just love the look of all sorts of layers and clusters of embellishments. One of my problems may be my table set up, so my resolution for the new year has been to get my scrap room finished and organized!! Maybe then it will be easier to see exactly what I have and start adding more to my layouts!
